Do you have any specialties or areas of focus (rehab, athletes, prenatal/postnatal, seniors, injury prevention, etc.)?
My primary focus is guiding adults toward more mindful and balanced movement. I tailor each session to help you achieve specific goals, whether you’re seeking cross-training to boost performance in another discipline or looking to relieve tension from long hours of desk work.
How would you describe your teaching style, and what can clients expect from a session with you?
My teaching style focuses on creating a mindful and restorative experience. Clients can expect a session that brings calm to the mind and reawakens awareness in the body through deliberate, purposeful movement. I provide tailored guidance to help you move with greater intention, leaving you feeling centered and realigned.
What inspired you to become a movement instructor, and what led you to Classical Pilates and/or the GYROTONIC® Method?
I started practicing Classical Pilates and the GYROTONIC® Method to cross-train for ballroom dancing, which have been very effective. I initially pursued the certifications to deepen my understanding and get access to more advanced continuous education courses. This journey allowed me to visit studios across the world, meet trainers of different backgrounds, and be exposed to a variety of perspectives. I’m eager to share my knowledge as a trainer, and I believe that teaching is a special way to build shared experience with other people.
What’s one thing you’re always curious to learn more about in movement or wellness?
I am keen to explore how to teach movement to adults. My own dance coaches believe that excellence in movement is teachable to adults as well as children, a conviction that inspired me to begin ballroom dancing after college. Having taught ballroom to adults for some time, I find it fascinating and effective to explain techniques using concepts from students' own professional fields. I'm now curious to discover how to teach Pilates and GYROTONIC® in a way that works best with each individual's training background and learning style.
