Yoevita is the founder and owner of Light & Joy Acupuncture, where she has been practicing Chinese Medicine for over 12 years, with a specialty in fertility, chronic pain, and mental wellness. Before pursuing her healing path, she spent a decade working as a software engineer. Originally from Indonesia, Yoevita continued her education in the United States and now lives in San Jose, CA. She holds a BA in Economics from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, and a Master’s Degree in Traditional Chinese Medicine from Five Branches University in San Jose.
Movement has always been integral to Yoevita’s life, beginning with classical ballet in her youth. Her teaching is also influenced by classical hatha yoga, in which she trained through Joyce Anue’s YES Yoga Program. In 2023, Yoevita began taking regular GYROTONIC® sessions at Urban Body San Jose, where she rediscovered a movement freedom reminiscent of yoga, tai chi, and ballet. She completed her GYROTONIC® Pre-training at Urban Body San Jose, her GYROKINESIS® Pre-training with Francesca Jandasek at Source Studio, and her GYROKINESIS® Foundation training with Kathy Van Patten in 2024. Yoevita has a passion for teaching the students in her classes and her private clients to embody awareness of breath for recovery and reintegration of movement to support daily life. Learning, practicing and teaching is the path to deeper understanding of ourselves. GYROTONIC® and GYROKINESIS® practice has helped Yoevita and her clients to work through mind and body limitations, pains and stagnations. Within her teaching and her own personal movement practice, Yoevita credits GYROKINESIS® for the creation of flow and awareness where the integration of breath and movement leads to clarity of mind. The GYROTONIC® System has given Yoevita a supportive healing space through exploration of movement in her self practice and those of her patients and students. As a mother of two, wife and leader in Classical Chinese Medicine here in San Jose, Yoevita is excited to join the Urban Body San Jose team and share her love of the healing movement with the San Jose community.
